About this data

Events come from IODA at Georgia Tech, which detects macroscopic internet disruptions by combining independent signals: BGP routing visibility, active probing of address blocks, and network telescope traffic. Each event lists the detection method that triggered it.

These are country-level detections. Short events often reflect transient routing changes rather than deliberate shutdowns; sustained or repeated outages are the meaningful signal. Regional blackouts that do not move the national signal may not appear here.

Connectivity is a useful real-time proxy for infrastructure stability: nationwide disruptions have historically coincided with power failures, security incidents, or deliberate interference.
